Hi ,

After 14 years of Conservative rule, the UK has awoken this week to a new, very red dawn.

Unfortunately it remains quite rainy, with only glimpses of sun predicted in the near future.

Obviously The Ferret is totally politically neutral so cannot turn that into a metaphor. All we can say is that things will be different. In some ways, Probably.

But remember, come rain or shine, Blue or red (or yelllow), The Ferret continue to scrutinise those in power and influence.

Yours,
Ali
Story of the week
An in-depth look at a Ferret investigation
Environmental rule breaking in Argyll’s commercial forests has polluted protected lochs, including one home to Scotland’s rarest freshwater fish, and put drinking water supplies at risk, the nation’s green watchdog has found.

Inspections by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) found foresters failing to protect waterways from pollution, leaving behind hundreds of plastic tree guards and burning, burying or abandoning waste.

Both “public and private drinking water supplies continue to be put at risk” from forestry operations, Sepa reported.
