Hi ,

It's 2024, and after an extended festive slumber, the Ferret Underground newsletter has finally emerged blinking into the harsh light of a new year.

What are our resolutions for the next twelve months?

1. More high-quality investigations
2. More impactful fact-checking
3. More insightful podcasts and multimedia content
4. Less detached newsletter irony

Three out of four wouldn't be a bad return, right?
Yours,
Ali

Internal Scottish Government emails, which The Ferret obtained via freedom of information law, show how officials sought to protect the Dumfries Station Hotel’s staff and residents after the building was targeted by people it labelled as “far right”.
