Hi ,

This week we bring you stories on a variety of crises being faced by people in Scotland and beyond, and the ways they are managed, negotiated and fought. We’ve reported on a ‘child protection crisis’ the Scottish Government’s ‘broken promises’ on fishing rules and unaccounted carbon emissions.

We also share a report, alongside these astounding images, of Kharkiv. The city has been at the heart of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine since March. As Russian troops get pushed back east, The Ferret reports on what’s left behind.

We’d like to thank you for reading and supporting our work, and the wider reach it has gotten. Just earlier this month we were referenced at the Scottish Parliament on World Press Freedom Day in a statement by Sarah Boyack, which you can now read.

Whatever the crises may be, we promise to do justice by our name and keep on digging - specially around those with power and influence.

And if you want to join in the mission and help us choose future topics of investigation, then become a member today!

Help us make journalism that changes things.

Warm wishes,
The Ferret
