Hi ,

This week The Ferret revisited an investigation from 2021 into NHS addiction treatment and how accessible it is to those who need it most.

A year ago The Ferret spoke to Fred Parry about his son Adam, described by his family as “handsome, charming and fiercely bright”. Through his son’s story, Fred highlighted the need for better alcohol treatment options.

Now, a review by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, has highlighted the need for lessons to be learned after identifying failings in Adam’s case. Campaigners said they still haven’t seen significant changes and more should be done to avoid similar tragedies occurring.

Thanks for your backing which allows our team to keep tabs on some of the most pressing issues in Scotland in recent years, and ask questions of those in power and hold them accountable.

Check out our archives for more stories on the above theme, and thanks again for your ongoing support.

Warm wishes,
The Ferret
